Introduction
PKLR is a pyruvate kinase which catalyzes the transphosphorylation of phohsphoenolpyruvate into pyruvate and ATP. That is the rate-limiting step of glycolysis. PKLR gene encodes the L- and R-type isoenzymes through alternate splicing events controlled by different promoters. L-type isoform can also appear as a tetramer and is upregulated by glucose with implications in maturity-onset diabetes of the young.

Immunogen
Anti-human PKLR mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with recombinant human PKLR amino acids 47-574 purified from E. coli.
Ig Subclass
Mouse IgG1 heavy chain and kappa light chain.
Purification Method
PKLR antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography.
Formulation
1mg/ml containing PBS, pH-7.4, & 0.1% Sodium Azide.
Storage Procedures
For periods up to 1 month store at 4°C, for longer periods of time, store at -20°C.
Prevent freeze thaw cycles.
Stability / Shelf Life
12 months at -20°C. 1 month at 4°C.
Applications
PKLR antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results.
Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500.
