Introduction
Caspase 2 Apoptosis-Related Cysteine Peptidase (CASP2) is a part of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. CASP2 takes part in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. CASP2 is also responsible for inactivating proteins essential for cell survival. The proteolytic cleavage of CASP2 is induced by a variety of apoptotic stimuli.
Description
CASP2 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 126 amino acids (348-452) and having a molecular mass of 14.1kDa.
CASP2 is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation
The CASP2 solution (1mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.4M Urea and 10% glycerol.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 80.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
