Introduction
Cytochrome b5 isoform 1 (CYB5A) is a member of the cytochrome b5 family. CYB5A is a membrane bound hemoprotein which functions as an electron carrier for several membrane bound oxygenases. Defects in the CYB5A gene are the cause of methemoglobinemia CYB5A-related (METHB-CYB5A), which is a form of methemoglobinemia (a hematologic disease characterized by the presence of excessive amounts of methemoglobin in blood cells, resulting in decreased oxygen carrying capacity of the blood, cyanosis and hypoxia).
Description
CYB5A Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 132 amino acids (1-108 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 14.9kDa.
CYB5A is fused to a 24 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation
CYB5A protein solution (1mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0), 20% glycerol, 0.1M NaCl and 1mM DTT.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
