Introduction
LIN28 plays an important role as a 'translational enhancer', leading specific mRNAs to polysomes and therefore increasing the competence of protein synthesis. LIN28 is a marker of undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells and it enhances the efficiency of the formation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from human fibroblasts. LIN28 binds to the let-7 pre-miRNA and blocks production of the mature let-7 microRNA in mouse embryonic stem cells. Overexpression of LIN28 is associated with human germ-cell tumors.
Description
Recombinant Human LIN28 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 191 amino acids (42-209) and having a molecular mass of 21.1 kDa.
LIN28 is expressed with a 23 amino acid His tag fused at N-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation
The LIN28 protein solution contains 20mM Tris-HCl, pH-8, 10% glycerol and 0.1M NaCl.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks.
Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Greater than 90.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE
