Large description:

The HLA-DR/CD8 is used for indentification of T lymphocytes CD8+/HLA-DR+. Elevated levels of CD8+/HLA-DR+ T lymphocytes are observed in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and during the acute stages of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. In HIV infection, the coexpression of CD8 andCD38, with a concomitant low percentage of CD4+ lymphocytes, is closely associated with disease progression. Selective elevation of HLA-DR+/CD38-/CD8+ cells may be a marker of stable HIV disease.
