This antibody was raised against performic acid-oxidized vertebrate calmodulin. It reacts preferentially with vertebrate calmodulin (chicken, bovine, rat, human) but shows minor cross-reactivity (<5%) with plant calmodulin (spinach).

Immunohistochemistry: 1: 1'000 for use with the avidin-biotin system. 

Radioimmunoassay: use at 1:50 to 1:100 dilution to detect a minimum of 1 ng calmodulin (10 ng/ml or 600 pM calmodulin by concentration). 

Western blot: 1:100 to 1:1'000 to detect down to 30 ng calmodulin on the gel.

For long storage keep small aliquots of the reconstituted antiserum at minus 80°C (or at least at -20°C). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
