Description	The Immortalized Mouse Cardiomyogenic Progenitor Cells are hygromycin-resistant, non-tumorigenic reversibly immortalized cells that have cardiomyocyte-like morphology and have maintained rhythmatic beating in culture. It expresses late stem cell markers (Oct3/4, Nanog, Sox2), c-kit, early cardiomyogenic markers (ISL-1, Hand2, Sca-1), and cardiomyocyte-specific markers (α-actin and α-myosin heavy chain). The immortalization process may be reversed by infection with Cre-recombinase expressing adenoviruses (abm Cat. No. 000018A) to revert immortal cells back into primary cells resulting in increasing differentiation potential. In the presence of retinoic acid, the cells undergo cardiomyogenesis where late cardiomyogenic markers (Actc1 and ANF) will be present. Dexamethasone may be used as a differentiation reagent, to express late markers ANF, cTnT, and α-MyHC. These cells are recommended for studies relating to cardiomyogenic progenitors in basic and/or translational research.

Propagation	Use of PriCoat? T25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) is required for cell adhesion to the culture vessels. Grow cells in ECM-coated culture vessels with the following conditions. The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow III medium available from ABM (TM003). To make the completed growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999) to final concentration of 10% and Penicillin/Streptomycin (G255). Atmosphere: air: 95%, CO?: 5%; Temperature: 37.0°C.
Quality Control	1) RT-PCR, qPCR, and sqPCR to detect cell markers; 2) Western blot analysis for SV40 large T antigen presence.
