(R)-Semivioxanthin isolated from Penicillium citreo-viride is a mycotoxin showing antibacterial(gram-positive) and antifungal activity.

(R)-Semivioxanthin is immunoregulator by degradation of IκB(Inhibitor of NF-κB) and regulation of the TNF-α(tumor necrosis factor-α) and MAPK(mitogen-activated protein kinase) signaling pathways.
