Description
The ViPrimePLUS Hepatitis B Virus qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of Adenovirus Type F and G genomes in clinical samples (e.g. blood plasma and serum).
Hepatitis B virus is a small, double stranded DNA virus with an outer protein embedded, lipid-based envelope. It is the main cause of chronic viral hepatitis in the world and is also known as serum hepatitis. Prolong infection left untreated will eventually lead to liver cancer. Transmission of the pathogen is through contact with blood and other body fluids from infected patients. There are about 2 million people worldwide reported to be infected with Hepatitis B and 600,000 deaths each year. Therefore, high throughput screening is especially applicable in medical health check and blood banking field.
